Wow..what's with all the pictures??

As you can see I’ve been on a picture binge the last few days. LOL. Daddy’s gotten me more interested in Flickr and now that I can post my pictures to the front page as well as “Blog This” of cute pictures I find…well you see what’s happened.

I figure either you’ll skip it if you don’t care or you’ll eat it up like you do everything else that gives you a peek into my psyche. Either way…posting is good and pictures count right?

I promised some info on DragonCon so here goes. We had a blast though it was much more stressful then I would have preferred. I was so proud of my packing job and it turns out I forgot quite a few key things. That was mucho annoying. Daddy seemed to be pretty touchy and at the time I was having a hard time understanding why. So the more he was upset with me the more stressed out I got. His filter seemed to slip a bit and so I took a few hits I wasn’t expecting.

The panels Tat and I did were good. A few fans stopped by to say hello and I was thrilled to meet them.  The LJ panel was weird since I didn’t feel much a part of the community but it’s helped me make some contacts so it did it’s job. The webcam panel was the same as the one before so I just talked about why and how I run my sites.  I stayed awake for Tat’s panel though I have to admit I don’t care much about the 2257 law. Not a shock.

Saturday and Sunday nights we both dressed up and made quite an impression. Lots of people wanted to take our pictures and I felt really good about being able to walk out in public in a skimpy outfit and not feel like the ugly best friend.  All that hard work of diet and exercise paid off and it has helped me stay with it. I did in fact gain 5 lbs back while we were away but I’m back down to 151 so it’s all back on track.  My sweet tooth however got rejuvinated with the food I ate on vacation so I’m gonna have to turn that back down to 1.

Sunday night we went to a Tattoo Party that was happening. The guys hosting it, “All or Nothing Tattoo”, were giving away 2k worth of prizes and we got pulled from way back in the line to up front because we were the hottest things there. They wanted us up on front so despite the fact that my feet were totally blistered from wearing heels two nights in a row for several hours it was fun being their “hot bitches”. I even managed to win a 50 dollar gift certificate for a piercing. Sadly, you have to have it done in Atlanta so I think I’m going to end up seeing if we can use it as a prize for Line of Sight. I don’t plan on any piercings until December anyway.

Because Tat and I were guests, we were allowed up in the Guest Suite where they had their own cook and bar. We went up a few times but the most fun time was Sunday night where we rubbed elbows (or cheeks in this case) with a lot of the sci fi stars that attended the Con.

• I got a double take from Paul McGillion (the Dr. on Stargate Atlantis). He apologized for the look and I told him “hey…go for it…I’ll always take compliments like that!” He spoke with me for a few minutes while he was at the bar getting drinks for all the celebs he was hanging with.
• I got to meet and take a picture with Tricia Helfer (Number 6 on BattleStar Galactica). She was REALLY really nice. I got an autographed picture and a picture with her. She like the other stars were giving the 5 dollars for a pic with them to Katrina Relief.

• Up in the suite Gigi Edgley (Chiana from Farscape) was chatting with other sci-fi stars. It took me a little bit to go up and talk to her. Maybe it was the fact that she was selling her signed Maxim magazine for $150 bucks that made me think I shouldn’t bother her with a “I loved you in…” But I did go tell her just before Tat and I left the suite for the night and she shocked me by giving me a kiss on the cheek and saying thanks. Part of me is like…”maybe that’s how she gets people to just go away…cause what the hell can you say after that?” but the other half is like “she must have meant it or she wouldn’t have just kissed me on the cheek..that’s a little intimate for a star who’s eager to go back to her other conversations.” Who knows…all I know is the pretty girl kissed me!
• Steve Bacic (Rhade on Andromeda) was totally as cute in person. Everyone was freakin taller then me though! LOL. I think I flirted with him a bit but honestly I can’t remember. It was a drive by photograph.

• Raelee Hill  (Sikozu from Farscape) looked so much different out of her makeup. I mean so did Gigi but Raelee looked like a school teacher. A cute school teacher, but… I told her I loved watching her on Farscape while she was sitting with the group and she thanked me and said I looked “fabulous tonight”. I was wearing my black short shorts outfit. That was nice to hear but I silently wondered if most people were looking at me like I was kinda slutty. I worry to much.
• Eric Etebari  (WitchBlade) was there and helped judge the Masquerade with Gigi and a few others. His hair was cut and he again…was very tall! He was totally blasted and I ended up embarrassing Tat a little unintentionally by saying we lusted after him. We ended up taking a picture for a group of women who wanted a picture with him. He had someone’s costume head piece on. LOL No idea why they wanted the pic…have no idea who they were to give it to them.
• We got to see David Mack again. I met him the first DCon we went to and fell in love with his work. He write and draws the comic Kabuki. I ended up spending a hundred dollars on his work and shirts but he threw in some free stuff so that was sweet. We went back to his table a few times just to say hi. He’s a doll!
• There were a few more stars we saw and one that even licked Tat’s back. He was associated with Stargate some how but damned if I know his name. LOL

In last news, we went to alot of really good panels. Much of the Gothic track, independent film track, writer’s track, and art track were on our lists. We all skipped a few due to tiredness or schedule problems but over all I think we all got to go to the really important ones.

I was really happy to attended them because it really jump started me on writing again. I’ve been wanting to write again for a while, and Daddy even told me he was all behind me if that’s what I wanted to do. After reading my old stuff I got really turned off on it for a while. The historical romance I wrote was just so syrupy. But I’m aiming at urban fantasy/sci-fi and have an idea for a first book. I’d eventually like to be able to do a series like the Anita Blake books or the “Dead Witch Walking” ones. We’ll see how it goes.

For now I have a working title that Purves helped me come up with called “House of Cards”. The premise of the book is about a young woman who is gifted with a special tarot deck that guides her to help a male spirit through to the other side before his soul can be claimed by the succubus who forced his hand to begin with. I’ll keep you appraised on how it goes.
