Actually the whole week has kinda rocked. Even though I spazzed out on Monday over karate it’s not been to bad. But today…today was just fricken great!

I hadn’t originally thought of anything I wanted for my anniversary. Daddy had told me he’d buy me anything I wanted (well I’m sure not ANYTHING…but you know). At the time…there really wasn’t anything I wanted enough that I couldn’t get some loser on NF to buy me. (Lol that’s horrible isn’t it?)

Anyway…today while reading lifehacker.org I came across an article on Bootstrapping. The article itself isn’t really important to me…but the following really opened my eyes. I can’t tell you what I asked for yet as I haven’t asked him if I could tell you peoples (nor has he said for sure he’s going to get it for me)…but I did want to point this paragraph out to you.

Kaizen.
Kaizen is a Japanese term for a Chinese concept. The gist of its meaning is continuous improvement by slow degrees of change. It has applications in quality improvement (at least in the US) but can be applied to many disciplines. You don’t set out to be perfect immediately. Start with what you have and slowly improve it through continuous/ daily actions. This methodology can be applied to anything. I use this principle to improve my websites and that of clients. The wikipedia definition of Kaizen gives a much fuller explanation which mentions three core principles that must be applied. I’ve only covered the gist.
