You really can’t get much cooler then showing up to the airport and recognizing Mya sitting huddled in a blue sweat shirt, awesome red heels, and dark sunglasses. We walked past her and I went “I know her.” I have a tendency to be able to recognize people and voices too. So when we passed her on the way to check in I went…”wow…ok”.
I whispered to Tat that I knew who she was but damned if I could actually think of her name. But I got my point across that she was famous. I even pointed her out without really giving her away. Tat shoved a pen and notebook in my hand and told me to go ask for an autograph. I felt horrible disturbing her but I did go up and ask. One guy was there right before me and she seemed ok doing it. I told her I felt bad asking but could I get one and she smiled and said yes. She asked me my name and where I was from. She asked me if it was just her or was it cold. Somehow I ended up explaining that I was from kansas but lived here and that I was one of those internet love stories you here about. She politely feigned interest. LOL
I gave her a biz card for a free reading when we passed her in first class. She looked confused but said thank you. She also came and stood behind us in the bathroom after our plane landed. She was huddled down in her sweat shirt and I asked her if she was still cold. She said yes and that’s the extent that we bugged her. Incidently, the guy accompanying her sat in the row behind us, not with her which was amusing.
Other then that, we got here ok and checked in. Rode the train here and saved a bunch of cash. Tat apparently told the hotel that I have a glutten allergy so we could get a fridge in our room. We are going cheap this con and buying snacks and food to eat rather then paying for tons of expensive meals. The bed is as big and soft and comfy as I remember it. In a few mins I’m going to go hop in it and fall asleep cause I got up at 5am this morning cause I couldn’t sleep anymore.
We’ve kind of planned out our weekend but i’m going to go back over the schedule and post what I’m planning on going to. Kinda like you are going with me. LOL ๐ I’m also attempting to relax and work on my patience this weekend. That means restraining my urge to text message. I’m trying to let others get a hold of me. So if you know who you are, please put me out of my misery now and then and send me one. ๐
The only other thing of note was we passed at least 2 guys today so far in utili-kilts and I can’t help but grin remembering the first time I really fell for Adam. He’d been wearing one at the TESFest I met him at. Damn he was hot…I’m gonna have to getรย him to wear it again for me soon. LOL ๐
